What is infertility?

What is infertility? Counseling to cope with infertility can help yu relax and enjoy your relationship in Philadelphia.

Many couples seek medical intervention to achieve pregnancy. Some begin to wonder if they are struggling with infertility but may not know exactly when they should begin to be concerned. This article looks at what is infertility, and how common is it?

After a year of trying to conceive prior to age 35, six months after age 35 and three months after age 40, we look at considering intervention. If there is a significant past medical history, intervention should be sought sooner.

A common issue

The common statistic one hears is that one in six couples encounter some difficulty getting pregnant or sustaining a pregnancy. The reasons can involve one or both partners; there can be a female factor, male factor or both and there can also be no identified cause.

What causes infertility?

There is a range of both male and female medical causes for infertility. Lifestyle behaviors can impact treatment outcomes including BMI-high and low, exercise, diet and supplements, caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine use. For some couples, pregnancy is achieved relatively quickly while for others, it can take longer.
